Welcome to the 7th International Workshop on Rhodococcus equi supported by the Japan Racing Association. This workshop is an excellent opportunity for researchers to share new findings or work in progress on R. equi and to forge new and lasting collaborations within this community.

We are accepting abstract submissions for presentations in each session. Please submit your abstract following the instructions on our website. At this time, all presentations are planned to be oral. Presentation times may vary depending on the number of abstracts accepted.

Presenters will receive complimentary conference registration, and hotel accommodations and meals (for 3 nights and 4 days from July 12 to 15). We will also arrange free shuttle buses from New Chitose Airport to the hotel. However, no assistance will be provided for travel expenses from within Japan or overseas.
Session chairs and scientific committee members will have their conference registration fees, and hotel accommodations and meals (for 3 nights and 4 days from July 12 to 15) fully covered. We will also arrange free shuttle buses from New Chitose Airport to the hotel. However, no assistance will be provided for travel expenses from within Japan or overseas.
If you share a room with a companion, the companion's accommodation and meals will also be free. If you have a companion, please notify the Secretariat (rhodococcus@equinst.go.jp).
Participants not giving presentations are responsible for their own hotel accommodation fees. The conference secretariat will handle accommodation reservations. The main venue hotel is the Eclipse Hotel, Shizunai, Hokkiaido. However, if the number of guests increases, we will reserve rooms at nearby hotels within walking distance.
Single: ¥11,800 per day
Twin: ¥23,600 per day
Queen: ¥22,600 per day

The 7th International Workshop on Rhodococcus equi will be held on 12-15 July 2026 in Hokkaido, Japan. The aim of the workshop is to facilitate the exchange of research and clinical results, ideas and experience in all aspects of R. equi and its infection in horses, various animals and humans. This is the idea of Dr Prescott who initiated this workshop in 1986. We are honored to host it in Japan 40 years later in 2026.
This workshop provides an opportunity for delegates to exchange new ideas and experiences face to face, to establish research relationships and to find partners for future collaborations. It is hoped that the results of the workshop will make a significant contribution to the knowledge of R. equi in this current field of equine medicine and science. The workshop organizing committee is pleased to invite equine veterinarians and researchers to submit their original presentations for this workshop. This event is organized and supported by the Japan Racing Association.
